Sony CMT-RB5 Operating Instructions

To set the clock on your Sony CMT-RB5, press the CLOCK/TIMER SELECT button on the remote. Use the TUNE +/– buttons to set the current hour, then press ENTER. Repeat the process to set the minutes.
Ensure that the speakers are properly connected to the system. Check that the volume is turned up and the system is not on mute. Also, verify that the correct source is selected.
To clean the CD player lens, use a commercial lens cleaner disc. Avoid using liquid cleaners or opening the unit to clean manually, as this may void the warranty.
The Sony CMT-RB5 does not have Bluetooth or USB connectivity for smartphones. However, you can use an auxiliary cable to connect your smartphone to the auxiliary input.
To reset your Sony CMT-RB5, unplug the power cord and wait a few minutes. Reconnect the power and press the POWER button while holding down the STOP button on the unit.
If the CD tray does not open, ensure that the unit is plugged in and powered on. Gently press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the unit. If it still doesn't open, disconnect the power, wait a few minutes, and try again.
To improve FM radio reception, extend the FM lead antenna fully and adjust its position. Placing the antenna near a window may also enhance reception.
The "PROTECT" message indicates a possible short circuit in the speaker wires. Turn off the system, check the speaker connections for any shorts, and ensure wires are properly connected.
Press the CLOCK/TIMER button and select TIMER SET. Choose the sound source and set the desired time using the TUNE +/– buttons, then press ENTER to confirm.
Regularly clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Ensure that the unit is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
