Sony CFS-213 Operating Instructions

To replace the cassette, open the cassette compartment door by pressing the 'Eject' button. Insert the cassette with the exposed tape side facing upwards and close the door until it clicks into place.
If the tape gets stuck, turn off the player and gently open the cassette compartment. Carefully remove the cassette without forcing it. Check the tape for any tangles or damages before reinserting.
Ensure the heads and pinch rollers are clean by using a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Additionally, use high-quality tapes and keep the unit away from magnetic interference.
Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. If using batteries, ensure they are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For cleaning tape heads and pinch rollers, use a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Insert a blank cassette, tune to the desired radio station, press the 'Record' and 'Play' buttons simultaneously. To stop recording, press the 'Stop' button.
Check if the capstan belt is worn or loose and replace if necessary. Also, clean the capstan and pinch roller with isopropyl alcohol to ensure they are free of dirt and debris.
The Sony CFS-213 does not have a built-in clock feature. Timekeeping functions are not available on this model.
Ensure the volume is turned up and the 'Mute' function is not activated. Check speaker connections and verify that headphones are not plugged in, as this will mute the speakers.
Extend the antenna, switch the function selector to 'Radio', and use the tuning dial to select the desired station. Adjust the volume as needed.
