If the cassette player isn't working, check that the cassette is inserted correctly. Ensure that the tape is not jammed or tangled. Clean the cassette player's heads and rollers with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol.
To clean the exterior, unplug the device and use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Gently wipe the surface to remove dust and fingerprints.
First, check that the volume is not set to the minimum and that the mute function is not activated. Ensure that the unit is plugged in and turned on. Check the speaker connections for any loose wires.
For better radio reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its position. Avoid placing the radio near other electronic devices that may cause interference.
The Sony CFM-165TW requires 6 D-size batteries for portable operation. Make sure to insert the batteries correctly, following the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
Regularly clean the cassette deck heads and pinch rollers with a head-cleaning cassette or a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Avoid using worn-out tapes to prevent damage to the deck.
The Sony CFM-165TW is designed with built-in speakers and does not have provisions for connecting external speakers. For better sound, try adjusting the equalizer settings, if available.
Check if the auto-off timer is set; this feature may cause the device to turn off after a set period. Also, ensure the power source is stable and not interrupted.
If the power cord is damaged, it is recommended to contact Sony customer support or a professional technician for replacement to ensure safety and compatibility.
