To reset the Sony CFD-Z500 to its factory settings, unplug the unit from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in. This will reset the system settings.
Ensure the disc is clean and free from scratches. If the issue persists, try using a lens cleaning disc to clean the CD player's laser lens.
Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle for better reception. Moving the unit closer to a window can also help.
Check if the volume is turned up and the mute function is not activated. Also, ensure that the headphones are not plugged in, which mutes the speakers.
The Sony CFD-Z500 uses 6 D-size batteries. To replace them, open the battery compartment on the back of the unit and insert the batteries as indicated.
