Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle for better reception. For FM stations, place the unit near a window. For AM reception, rotate the unit to find the best signal.
Insert a blank cassette tape, tune to the desired radio station, and press the "REC" and "PLAY" buttons simultaneously to start recording. Press "STOP" to end the recording.
The Sony CFD-S39 does not support external speakers directly. However, you can use a headphone jack to connect to an external audio system if needed.
The Sony CFD-S39 requires six size C (R14) batteries for portable operation. Ensure they are inserted correctly according to the polarity markings.
Use a cotton swab moistened with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the tape heads. Allow them to dry completely before using the cassette player.
Ensure the cassette tape is not jammed or tangled. Clean the tape heads and check that the tape is not damaged. If the issue persists, the player may require servicing.
Press the "BAND" button to toggle between AM and FM bands. The selected band will be displayed on the LCD screen.
To reset the unit, disconnect it from the power source and remove any batteries. Wait a few minutes before reconnecting to reset the settings.
