To set the clock, press and hold the 'Clock/Display' button until the hour indicator starts flashing. Use the 'Tuning +/–' buttons to adjust the hour, then press 'Enter'. Repeat the process for minutes.
Ensure the CD is inserted correctly with the label side up. Check for any dust or scratches on the disc. If the problem persists, try using a different CD to verify if the issue is with the player or the disc.
Extend the antenna fully and adjust its position. For FM stations, try placing the unit near a window. For AM stations, rotate the unit to find the best reception angle.
First, ensure the unit is turned off. Gently open the cassette compartment. If it doesn't open easily, do not force it; instead, try rewinding or fast-forwarding the tape slightly, then open again.
The Sony CFD-S36 is designed as a portable unit with built-in speakers and does not support external speaker connections.
Use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the lens. Avoid using any liquids or abrasive materials as they can damage the lens.
Check that the volume is turned up and not muted. Ensure the 'Function' selector is set to the correct source. Verify that headphones are not plugged in, as this will mute the speakers.
Insert a blank cassette tape, tune to the desired radio station, and press the 'Record' button along with 'Play'. To stop recording, press the 'Stop' button.
The Sony CFD-S36 can be powered using the included AC power cord or by using six D-size batteries for portable operation.
To reset the unit, unplug it from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in. This will reset the settings but will not erase stored radio stations.
