Ensure the tape is properly inserted and the heads are clean. If the issue persists, check for any obstructions or damage to the tape deck mechanism.
Check if the power cord is securely connected and the outlet is functional. If using batteries, ensure they are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge.
Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle. Moving the unit closer to a window or away from electronic devices may also help improve reception.
The Sony CFD-970 requires six 'D' size batteries for portable operation. Make sure they are installed with the correct polarity.
To clean the CD player lens, use a dry or slightly dampened lens cleaning disc. Avoid using any chemical cleaners directly on the lens.
First, ensure the CDs are clean and free of scratches. If the problem continues, try cleaning the lens and checking the CD player's alignment.
Insert a blank cassette into the deck, tune to the desired radio station, and press the 'Record' and 'Play' buttons simultaneously to start recording.
Check the volume settings and speaker connections. Distortion can also occur if the batteries are low, so try replacing them or using AC power.
Press the 'Band' button on your Sony CFD-970 to toggle between AM and FM radio bands.
