Sony CFD-9 Operating Instructions

To set the clock, press and hold the CLOCK button until the hour digits start flashing. Use the TUNING + or – buttons to set the correct hour, then press CLOCK again to set the minutes. Finally, press CLOCK once more to confirm the time.
First, ensure the disc is clean and free from scratches. Try using a different CD to see if the problem persists. If the issue continues, clean the laser lens with a CD lens cleaner. If none of these solutions work, consult a professional technician.
For better radio reception, extend the antenna fully and adjust its position for the best signal. Avoid placing the device near electronic equipment that might cause interference. If reception is still poor, consider using an external antenna.
The Sony CFD-9 is not compatible with MP3 CDs. It only supports standard audio CDs.
The Sony CFD-9 requires 6 size C (R14) batteries for portable operation. Ensure all batteries are inserted correctly, following the polarity markings in the compartment.
To clean the cassette player, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For the tape head, use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to gently clean the head and capstan. Regular cleaning prevents sound quality issues and prolongs the life of the device.

To clean the CD lens, use a CD lens cleaner disc available in electronics stores. Insert the disc and follow the instructions provided with the cleaner for optimal results. Do not attempt to clean the lens manually to avoid damage.
