To set the radio stations, turn on the radio and press the BAND button to select AM or FM. Use the TUNING dial to find your desired station. To save it, press and hold the MEMORY button until you hear a beep. Then press the PRESET button to assign a number.
First, ensure the disc is clean and free from scratches. Try other discs to rule out a disc issue. If the problem persists, clean the CD lens with a lens cleaner. If the issue continues, consult a technician as the lens may be misaligned or damaged.
Check the placement of the speakers; they should be positioned in a way that sound can travel freely. Adjust the MEGA BASS and tone controls to your preference. Ensure your audio source is of high quality and connections are secure.
Turn off the unit and unplug it. Open the battery compartment located on the back of the unit. Remove the old batteries and replace them with new D-size batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For the CD lens, use a lens cleaner designed for electronics. Regular dusting and keeping the device covered when not in use will help maintain cleanliness.
Noises can be due to dirty heads, rollers, or capstans. Clean these components with a special tape head cleaner. If the tape is worn out or damaged, it may also cause noise. Ensure tapes are in good condition before use.
To reset the CFD-60, unplug the power cord and remove any batteries. Press and hold the POWER button for about 10 seconds. Reconnect the power and turn the device on. This should reset the settings.
The Sony CFD-60 does not have an option to connect external speakers as it is designed as a standalone unit. However, you may use the headphone output for an external connection if needed, but sound quality may vary.
Check if the unit is properly plugged into a power outlet. If using batteries, ensure they are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge. Inspect the power cord for damage. If the problem persists, seek professional repair services.
The Sony CFD-60 can handle standard cassette tapes up to 90 minutes (C90). Using tapes longer than this, like C120, may increase the risk of tape jam or damage.
