To set the clock on your Sony CFD-460, press the 'Clock' button, use the tuning dial to adjust the hour, press 'Clock' again to set the hour, and then use the tuning dial to adjust the minutes. Press 'Clock' one final time to save the settings.
Ensure that the volume is turned up and not muted. Check that the speakers are connected properly and the correct function (CD, Radio, Tape) is selected. If the issue persists, try resetting the unit by unplugging it for a few minutes.
First, ensure the disc is clean and free from scratches. Try another disc to determine if the issue is disc-related. If the problem continues, clean the CD lens with a lens cleaner. If the issue persists, seek professional repair services.
Extend the antenna fully and adjust its position. Avoid placing the unit near metal objects or electronic devices that may cause interference. If reception is still poor, try repositioning the unit itself.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents. For the tape deck, use a tape head cleaning kit periodically. Ensure that no liquid enters the device to prevent damage.
Open the cassette compartment, insert the cassette tape with the desired side facing out, close the compartment, and press the 'Play' button. Ensure the 'Tape' function is selected.
Select the radio band (AM/FM) and tune to the desired station. Press and hold the 'Memory' button until the preset number flashes, then use the tuning dial to select a preset number and press 'Memory' again to save it.
Check if the tape is properly inserted and not jammed. Clean the tape heads using a cleaning cassette. Inspect the belts and replace them if worn. If problems continue, a professional technician may be needed.
The Sony CFD-460 does not support external speakers directly. It is designed to work with the built-in speakers only. For external audio output, consider using an auxiliary cable to connect to an external audio system.
To reset your Sony CFD-460, turn off the unit and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. This will reset the unit to its default settings.
