To set the clock on your Sony CFD-445, press the 'Clock' button until the hour digits start flashing. Use the 'Tuning/Clock' buttons to adjust the hour, and then press 'Clock' again to set the minutes. Confirm by pressing 'Clock' one more time.
Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches. Try a different CD to rule out disc issues. If the problem persists, clean the lens with a CD lens cleaner. If the issue continues, consult a technician.
Extend the antenna fully and adjust its position for better reception. Avoid placing the unit near electronic devices that may cause interference. If indoors, try relocating the unit closer to a window.
Press the 'Band' button to toggle between AM and FM radio modes. The display will indicate the current band you are listening to.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For the cassette player, use a head cleaning cassette periodically to maintain optimal performance.
This could be due to a power issue or automatic standby mode. Check the power source and ensure the power cord is securely connected. Disable any sleep timers that might be set.
Insert a blank cassette tape, select the radio band and station you wish to record, press the 'Record' button along with 'Play' on the cassette deck to start recording.
The Sony CFD-445 requires six 'D' size batteries for portable operation. Ensure they are inserted correctly, following the polarity instructions in the battery compartment.
Tune to the desired station, press and hold a preset button (1-4) until you hear a beep. The station is now stored in the selected preset button.
Check that the volume is turned up and the mute function is not activated. Ensure the speakers are connected properly and that the source is correctly selected.
