To set the clock on your Sony CFD-44, press the 'Clock' button, use the 'Hour' and 'Minute' buttons to adjust the time, and confirm by pressing 'Clock' again.
If your CD player is not reading discs, ensure the disc is clean and free from scratches. Try a different CD to rule out disc issues. If the problem persists, clean the lens using a CD lens cleaner.
To improve radio reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle. Moving the unit closer to a window or away from other electronic devices can also help.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Avoid using alcohol, benzine, or thinner. For stubborn stains, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
To reset your Sony CFD-44, unplug the unit from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. This will reset the settings to factory defaults.
Muffled sound from the cassette player can be caused by dirty heads. Clean the heads with a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Also, ensure the tapes are in good condition.
Use the 'Function' button on your CFD-44 to cycle through available audio sources such as CD, radio, and cassette.
The Sony CFD-44 uses six size 'C' batteries for portable operation. Make sure they are inserted correctly following the polarity markings.
To extend the battery life, use alkaline batteries, turn off the unit when not in use, and avoid using high volume levels for extended periods.
If the display is not working, check the power source and ensure the unit is properly plugged in. If using batteries, replace them with a new set. If the issue persists, seek professional repair.
