To set the clock on the Sony CFD-17, press and hold the CLOCK button until the hour digits flash. Use the TUNING + or - buttons to set the correct hour, then press CLOCK again. The minute digits will flash; adjust them using the TUNING buttons, and press CLOCK to confirm.
