Extend the antenna fully and adjust its position. If indoors, placing the unit near a window can also enhance reception.
Check if the volume is turned up and ensure the unit is not on mute. Also, verify that the headphones are not plugged into the headphone jack.
The Sony CFD-131 does not support external speakers as it lacks external speaker outputs.
The Sony CFD-131 operates on six C-sized batteries. Make sure to insert them according to the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
Use a cassette head cleaner or a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the heads and pinch rollers.
The Sony CFD-131 can play standard CDs with a maximum capacity of 74 minutes of audio. It does not support MP3 or data CDs.
Insert a blank cassette tape, tune to the desired radio station, and press the 'Record' and 'Play' buttons simultaneously to start recording.
