To perform routine maintenance, regularly check the oil level, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the blades for sharpness, and ensure the tires are properly inflated. Lubricate moving parts and check the battery condition monthly.
Use SAE 30 oil for operating temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and SAE 5W-30 for colder temperatures. Always refer to the user manual for specific oil recommendations.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and confirm that the safety switches are engaged.
To change the blades, ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, disconnect the spark plug, lift the deck, use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, and install the new blades by tightening the bolts securely.
The cutting height is adjusted using the lever located near the seat. Move the lever to the desired height setting to raise or lower the mower deck accordingly.
Stop the tractor immediately, let the engine cool, check the air intake vents for blockages, ensure the oil level is adequate, and inspect the cooling fins for debris.
Replace the air filter every 25 operating hours or more frequently if you operate in dusty conditions. Regular inspection and cleaning will prolong its life.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to clumping, uneven cuts, and potential damage to the mower deck. Wait for the grass to dry for optimal results.
Excessive vibration could be due to unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or worn-out belts. Inspect these components and replace or tighten them as necessary.
For off-season storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, remove or stabilize fuel, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Consider covering it with a tarp for added protection.
