To change the oil, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain into a pan. Replace the drain plug and fill with new oil as specified in the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify the fuel level and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Mower blades should be sharpened after every 25 hours of use or if you notice the grass is being torn rather than cut cleanly. Always disconnect the spark plug before servicing the blades.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 10 PSI for the front tires and 14 PSI for the rear tires. Always check the manual to confirm the specifications for your model.
Remove the air filter cover and carefully take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with warm soapy water and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. For paper filters, tap out any dirt or replace if excessively dirty.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, uneven tire pressure, or a misaligned deck. Check each of these components and adjust or replace as necessary.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
To adjust the mower deck height, locate the height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, ensuring both sides of the deck are level.
Stop the tractor immediately and let the engine cool. Check the cooling fins for debris and clean them if necessary. Ensure the engine has proper oil and coolant levels.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any grass clippings. Change the oil and check fluid levels. Store it in a dry, sheltered location, and disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
