To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and disconnect the spark plug. Position an oil pan under the engine, remove the oil drain plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug, add new oil through the fill port, and check the level with the dipstick.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are tight and clean. Verify the fuel level, and inspect the spark plug for fouling or wear. If these are fine, consider checking the fuel filter and air filter for clogs.
Ensure the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Check the tire pressure for evenness, and adjust the deck height according to the type of grass you're cutting. Regularly clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Ethanol content should not exceed 10% to prevent engine damage.
Park the tractor on a flat surface. Measure the blade height from the ground on both sides. Use the adjustment links on the deck to raise or lower the sides until they are even.
Perform oil changes every 50 hours of operation, replace the air filter annually, and sharpen or replace blades as needed. Check tire pressure and battery connections regularly. Refer to the manual for a detailed schedule.
Check for loose or damaged blades and ensure they are properly balanced. Inspect the mower deck for debris or damage, and verify that all bolts and fasteners are secure.
Check the transmission fluid level and top it off if necessary. Inspect for leaks and ensure the drive belt is in good condition and properly tensioned.
Ensure the cooling fins and air intake screens are clean and free of debris. Check the oil level and make sure it is filled to the recommended level. Consider inspecting the cooling fan and replacing it if damaged.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and perform any necessary maintenance. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor with a tarp or store it in a sheltered area.
