To change the oil, warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the old oil drain into a pan. Replace the drain plug, then refill with new oil. Consult the manual for the correct type and amount of oil.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank has gasoline and the fuel valve is open. Check the spark plug for wear or damage.
To adjust the cutting deck, park the tractor on a level surface. Lower the deck to its lowest position. Use the adjustment levers to level the deck from side to side and front to back.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing air filters, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the deck. Follow the manual's maintenance schedule.
Ensure the tire pressure is even and the cutting deck is level. Check the blades for sharpness and damage, and replace them if necessary. Make sure the grass is dry and not too long.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the mower deck and loosen the belt guides. Slide the old belt off the pulleys and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is properly seated. Reattach the deck and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Check for debris stuck in the blades or deck. Inspect the blades for balance and make sure they are properly tightened. Verify that the engine mounting bolts are secure.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion. Store the tractor in a dry place and disconnect the battery if not in use for extended periods. Charge the battery regularly to maintain its health.
Clean the tractor thoroughly. Change the oil and remove the battery to store it in a warm place. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Store the tractor in a dry, covered area.
