To change the oil, first warm up the engine. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Place a pan under the engine's oil drain plug. Unscrew the plug and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil, following the specifications in the manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Do not use ethanol blends higher than 10% (E10) as they can damage the engine.
Check that the battery is fully charged and the terminals are clean and secure. Ensure the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Verify that the safety features, like the seat switch, are functioning properly.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Use a block to secure the mower deck. Remove the blade bolts with a wrench and replace the old blades with new ones. Ensure the new blades are correctly installed and tightened to the torque specifications.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, debris in the mower deck, or loose parts. Check and clean the mower deck, inspect the blades for balance and damage, and tighten any loose parts. Replace damaged components as necessary.
Regular maintenance should be performed at the start of each mowing season and after every 25 hours of operation. This includes checking the oil, air filter, blades, belts, and battery. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring it locks into place. Make sure both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the drive belt is intact and properly aligned. Inspect the transmission release lever to ensure it is engaged. Also, verify that the transmission fluid level is adequate. Consult the manual for further troubleshooting if needed.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with mild detergent and water, then let it air dry. For paper filters, tap to remove debris or replace if heavily soiled. Reinstall the filter and secure the cover.
The recommended tire pressure is usually around 10 psi for the front tires and 14 psi for the rear tires. Check the owner's manual or the tire sidewall for specific recommendations. Use a tire gauge to measure and adjust the pressure as needed.
