To change the oil, first warm up the engine for a few minutes to thin the oil. Turn off the engine and remove the key. Locate the oil drain plug and place a container beneath it. Remove the plug and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil as specified in the manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% as they can damage the engine.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or loose cables. Ensure the fuel valve is open and there is enough fuel in the tank. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Remove the mower deck and use a wrench to remove the blades. Secure the blade in a vice and use a file or grinder to sharpen the cutting edge. Ensure the blade is balanced before reinstallation.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, which ranges from lowest to highest cutting height. Ensure the deck is level from side to side for even cutting.
Perform an oil change every 50 hours of operation or once per season. Check and clean the air filter every 25 hours. Inspect and replace the spark plug annually. Lubricate all moving parts and check tire pressure regularly.
Maintain proper tire pressure and keep the mower deck clean of debris. Ensure the engine is running smoothly by performing regular maintenance. Mow at the recommended speed and avoid overloading the engine.
Check for debris or damage on the mower blades. Ensure the blades are balanced and properly installed. Inspect the deck belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Tighten any loose bolts or screws on the deck.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the mower deck. Release tension on the belt by adjusting the tensioner pulley. Remove the old belt and install the new one, following the diagram in the manual. Reinstall the mower deck and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Clean the tractor thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Change the oil and filter, and lubricate all moving parts. Add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
