Ensure the brake is engaged, and the PTO switch is off. Insert the key and turn it to the start position. Wait for the engine to start, then release the key.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank is not empty and the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil depending on the ambient temperature.
Regularly clean the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris. Check and sharpen the blades as needed, and ensure the deck is properly leveled.
Ensure the mower deck is level from side to side and front to back. Check that the tire pressures are equal and correct. Inspect the blades for damage or wear.
Remove any fuel from the tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the oil and oil filter. Clean the exterior and store the tractor in a dry, sheltered area.
Use the lever located on the fender to adjust the cutting height to the desired level. Ensure the deck is level after adjustment.
Excessive vibration could be due to unbalanced or damaged blades, worn belts, or debris stuck in the pulleys. Inspect these components to identify the issue.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with compressed air or replace it if it's too dirty or damaged. Ensure the air filter is completely dry before reinstalling.
Check the transmission fluid level and top it off if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if needed.
