To adjust the bevel angle, unlock the bevel adjustment lever located at the front of the saw. Tilt the base plate to the desired angle, and then lock the lever to secure the position.
The maximum cutting depth of the Skil SPT67WE-01 saw at 90 degrees is 2-7/16 inches.
To replace the blade, unplug the saw, engage the spindle lock, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Remove the old blade, install the new one, and securely tighten the bolt.
Regularly inspect the power cord for damage, clean the sawdust from the tool, and ensure the blade is sharp and properly installed. Lubricate moving parts as per the user manual instructions.
Blade binding can occur if the blade is dull, the material is improperly supported, or if the saw is forced through the cut. Ensure the blade is sharp and that the workpiece is properly secured.
Check the alignment of the base plate and the blade. Use a square to ensure the blade is perpendicular to the base plate at 90 degrees. Adjust if necessary.
For cutting plywood, use a fine-toothed carbide-tipped blade with at least 40 teeth for a cleaner cut.
To reduce splintering, use a blade with more teeth, apply masking tape along the cut line, and ensure the workpiece is firmly supported.
Check the power source, ensure the power cord is not damaged, and verify that the switch is in working condition. If the problem persists, consult a qualified technician.
The Skil SPT67WE-01 is primarily designed for wood cutting. However, with the appropriate metal-cutting blade, it can be used for light metal cutting tasks.
