To change the blade, first unplug the saw. Remove the blade guard and use the wrench provided to loosen the arbor nut. Carefully remove the old blade and replace it with a new one, ensuring the teeth face the correct rotation direction. Tighten the arbor nut and reattach the blade guard.
The SKIL 3540-02 saw has a maximum cutting capacity of 3.5 inches at 90 degrees and 1 inch at 45 degrees.
To prevent chipping, make sure to use the correct blade for the material. Apply even pressure and avoid forcing the tile through the blade. Using water to cool the blade can also reduce chipping.
For optimal performance, use a continuous rim diamond blade that is 7 inches in diameter, suitable for wet cutting.
To align the fence, loosen the locking knobs and adjust the fence to the desired measurement using the scale on the table. Once aligned, tighten the knobs to secure the fence in place.
Regularly clean the saw to remove debris and tile dust. Check the blade for wear and replace it as necessary. Ensure all moving parts are lubricated and functioning properly. Inspect the power cord for any damage.
First, check if the saw is properly plugged in. Inspect the power cord for any damage. Make sure the power switch is in the 'on' position. If it still doesn't start, check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary.
The SKIL 3540-02 is designed for wet cutting to reduce dust and increase blade life. It is not recommended to use it for dry cutting.
To adjust the bevel angle, loosen the bevel lock lever, tilt the table to the desired angle up to 45 degrees, and then retighten the lever to secure the position.
If the saw is making a loud noise, it may be due to a dull blade, loose parts, or debris in the motor housing. Inspect and clean the saw, tighten any loose parts, and replace the blade if necessary.
