To thread the Singer EM9305, first raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. Place the spool of thread on the spool pin and secure it with the spool cap. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread is properly seated in the tension discs and through the take-up lever. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure you are using the correct needle size and type for your fabric. Check that the needle is properly installed and not bent. Also, verify that the fabric is not being pulled excessively during sewing as this can cause the needle to break.
Uneven stitches can be caused by incorrect threading, tension settings, or a dull needle. Re-thread the machine, check the upper and bobbin thread tensions, and replace the needle if necessary. Ensure the fabric is being fed through evenly without pulling.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly inserted in the bobbin case and that the machine is threaded correctly. Make sure the needle is installed correctly and not bent. Check the manual to ensure the bobbin is wound properly.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the lint from the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush. Occasionally, remove the needle plate to clean underneath. Oil the machine as recommended in the manual. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
Use only sewing machine oil for lubricating the Singer EM9305. Avoid using household oils or WD-40, as these can damage the machine. Refer to the manual for specific lubrication points.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension dial on the machine. For lighter fabrics, lower the tension setting, and for heavier fabrics, increase it. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure the stitches are balanced.
Ensure the presser foot is down and that the feed dogs are raised. Check for any obstructions under the needle plate. If the issue persists, check the feed dog settings as described in the manual.
Stop sewing immediately and check for any obstructions or tangled threads. Ensure the machine is properly threaded and that the needle is not bent. Cleaning and oiling the machine may also help reduce noise.
Raise the presser foot lever and remove the current foot by pressing the lever at the back of the foot holder. Place the new presser foot under the holder and lower the presser foot lever to snap it into place. Ensure it is properly attached before sewing.
