To change the blade, first disconnect the saw from the power supply. Remove the blade guard and use the provided wrench to loosen the arbor nut. Remove the old blade, replace it with a new one, ensuring the teeth face the correct direction, and tighten the arbor nut securely. Finally, reattach the blade guard.
The maximum cutting depth of the Scheppach TS 4020 at 90 degrees is 85mm.
To adjust the bevel angle, loosen the bevel lock handle located at the front of the saw. Tilt the blade to the desired angle, using the scale on the side for reference, and then tighten the bevel lock handle to secure the angle.
If the motor overheats, turn off the saw immediately and disconnect from the power source. Allow the motor to cool down completely before inspecting for any obstructions or binding issues. Check that the ventilation slots are clear of debris and ensure the blade is sharp and properly installed.
It is recommended to lubricate the moving parts of the Scheppach TS 4020 every 20 hours of operation or monthly, whichever comes first. Use a light machine oil for lubrication.
If the saw does not start, check that it is plugged into a functioning power outlet. Verify that the power switch is in the "ON" position and inspect the fuse or circuit breaker in the power source for faults. If the issue persists, consult a professional technician.
The Scheppach TS 4020 is primarily designed for cutting wood and similar materials. To cut metal, use a blade specifically designed for metal cutting and ensure the saw's specifications support such operations. Exercise caution and follow all safety guidelines.
Regularly clean the saw's components, including the blade, table, and vents. Check for loose bolts and tighten them as necessary. Inspect the blade for signs of wear and replace if needed. Lubricate moving parts and ensure the power cord is free from damage.
To align the rip fence, loosen the fence locking lever and adjust the fence until it is parallel to the blade using a measuring tape or square. Once aligned, tighten the locking lever to secure the fence in place.
Always wear safety goggles and hearing protection. Ensure the work area is clean and free of obstructions. Use push sticks when cutting narrow pieces and never remove blade guards. Disconnect the saw from power when changing blades or performing maintenance.
