To align the blade, first ensure the saw is unplugged. Use a combination square to check the blade's alignment with the miter slot by measuring from the front and back of the blade. Adjust the trunnion assembly if needed by loosening the bolts and tapping it into alignment. Tighten the bolts securely once aligned.
After use, unplug the saw and use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust from the surface and interior. Clean the blade with a cloth and a suitable blade cleaner to remove resin buildup. Apply a thin layer of protective oil on the table surface to prevent rust.
First, check the power source and ensure the saw is properly plugged in. Verify the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Inspect the power cord for damage. If the saw still doesn’t start, consult the manual for fuse replacement or contact a qualified technician.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the sawdust from the unit, lubricating moving parts, checking and tightening bolts and screws, inspecting the blade for wear, and ensuring the safety mechanisms are functioning properly.
Ensure all parts are properly secured and the saw is on a stable surface. Use a sharp, high-quality blade, as dull blades can increase noise. Consider using sound-dampening materials in your workshop to minimize noise reflection.
Burning wood can result from a dull blade, incorrect blade height, or feeding the wood too slowly. Sharpen or replace the blade, adjust the blade height so it is just above the wood, and maintain a steady feed rate to prevent burning.
Ensure the saw is unplugged. Raise the blade to its highest position. Use the wrench provided to loosen the arbor nut, then remove the old blade. Place the new blade onto the arbor, ensuring it is facing the correct direction, and tighten the nut securely.
Always wear safety goggles and hearing protection. Ensure the blade guard is in place and functioning. Keep hands away from the blade and use push sticks when necessary. Be mindful of loose clothing or jewelry that could catch.
Check that the fence is parallel to the blade and miter slot. Ensure the wood is flat and not warped. Verify that the blade is sharp and properly aligned. Adjust the fence and blade alignment as necessary to ensure straight cuts.
Connect a vacuum or dust collector to the saw's dust port. Ensure all connections are sealed and secure to prevent leaks. Regularly clean the dust bag or container, and consider adding a separator to improve efficiency.
