To set up the Scheppach HS720 saw, first ensure the saw is on a stable, level surface. Attach the saw blade as per the instructions in the manual, ensuring it is securely fastened. Check and adjust the blade guard and riving knife, and connect the saw to a compatible power source.
Always wear safety goggles and ear protection while operating the saw. Ensure the work area is clean and free from obstructions. Avoid loose clothing and secure long hair. Never bypass the blade guard and always use push sticks for small or narrow workpieces.
Check if the blade is warped or dull and replace it if necessary. Ensure that the fence is aligned parallel to the blade. Verify that the workpiece is flat and securely positioned. Adjust the blade alignment and check for any play in the arbor.
Regularly clean the sawdust from the blade, motor housing, and work area. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the manual. Periodically check the tension and condition of the drive belt, and replace if worn. Inspect the blade for sharpness and damage, replacing as necessary.
Disconnect the saw from the power source. Use the provided wrench to loosen the arbor nut, holding the blade in place with a wooden block. Remove the old blade and install the new one, ensuring the teeth face the correct direction. Tighten the arbor nut securely.
An overheating motor may be caused by prolonged use without breaks, insufficient ventilation, or a dull blade causing excessive load. Ensure adequate airflow around the motor and use sharp blades. Allow the motor to cool between extended cuts.
First, check that the saw is properly plugged in and that the power outlet is functioning. Inspect the power cord for damage. Ensure the safety switch is engaged. If the issue persists, consult the manual for fuse or circuit breaker information.
To adjust the cutting depth, loosen the depth adjustment lever located on the side of the saw. Move the saw body up or down to achieve the desired depth, and then tighten the lever to secure the setting. Always test the depth on a scrap piece before proceeding.
To align the rip fence, loosen the locking lever and slide the fence close to the blade. Measure the distance from the blade to the fence at both the front and back. Adjust until both distances are equal, ensuring parallel alignment, and then lock the fence in place.
The blade should be replaced when it becomes dull, chipped, or damaged. The frequency depends on usage; regular users might need to replace the blade every few months, while occasional users may find yearly replacements sufficient. Always use a sharp blade for best results.
