To reset the oil change light, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. The light should flash and then go off, indicating the reset is complete.
The 2004 Pontiac Bonneville requires Dex-Cool coolant, which is a long-life antifreeze designed for GM vehicles. Ensure the coolant is mixed with distilled water at a 50/50 ratio.
First, check the fuse related to the power windows. If the fuse is intact, inspect the window switch and window motor for faults. A multimeter can help test for power at the switch and motor.
The recommended tire pressure for the 2004 Pontiac Bonneville is 30 psi for both front and rear tires. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Open the hood and locate the headlight assembly. Remove the retaining clips or screws, then pull the assembly out gently. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, and replace the bulb. Reassemble in reverse order.
If the battery is new but the car won't start, check the starter, ignition switch, and alternator. Also, inspect battery cables for corrosion or loose connections.
It is recommended to change the transmission fluid every 50,000 to 60,000 miles for optimal performance and longevity of the transmission components.
Overheating can be caused by a variety of issues such as a low coolant level, a faulty thermostat, a clogged radiator, or a malfunctioning water pump. Inspect these components to diagnose the problem.
Check the sunroof drains for clogs and clear them using compressed air or a flexible wire. Inspect the sunroof seal for damage and replace it if necessary to prevent leaks.
Regular maintenance should include oil changes every 3,000 miles, checking and topping off fluids, rotating tires every 6,000 miles, and inspecting brakes, belts, and hoses regularly.
