Regular maintenance should be performed every 25 hours of operation or every 6 months, whichever comes first. This includes checking oil levels, brakes, and tire pressure.
Polaris recommends using PS-4 10W-40 oil for optimal performance. Ensure you use oil that meets the API service classification of SM or higher.
To check the transmission fluid, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface. Remove the fill plug on the side of the transmission case and check if the fluid reaches the bottom of the plug hole.
If the vehicle is hard to start, check the battery connections, spark plug condition, and ensure there is enough fuel. If problems persist, consult a professional technician.
Loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain tensioners evenly on both sides, and ensure there is 0.5 to 0.75 inches of slack in the chain. Tighten the axle nut after adjustment.
The recommended tire pressure is 4 psi for the front tires and 4 psi for the rear tires. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and gently wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Spongy brakes may indicate air in the brake lines. Bleed the brakes according to the service manual instructions, and inspect for any fluid leaks or worn brake pads.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance such as air filter cleaning, proper tire inflation, and using the recommended oil. Also, avoid aggressive riding habits.
If the vehicle overheats, stop and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not clogged with debris. If overheating persists, consult a professional technician.
