Regularly check the oil level and quality. Replace the oil filter every 500 miles or at the start of each season. Clean or replace the air filter to ensure optimal airflow.
Ensure the battery is fully charged and check all electrical connections. Inspect the spark plugs for wear and replace if necessary. Verify that the fuel is fresh and the fuel lines are clear.
Maintain proper tire pressure, ensure the engine is well-tuned, and reduce unnecessary weight. Use high-quality fuel and regularly inspect the exhaust system for any blockages.
Check the coolant levels and ensure the radiator is free from debris. Inspect the thermostat and replace it if faulty. Make sure the fan is operational and the airflow is unimpeded.
Inspect the shocks for leaks and proper function, check for worn bushings, and tighten loose bolts. Lubricate pivot points and ensure alignment is correct.
Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage and continuity in the wiring. Inspect fuses and replace any that are blown. Look for corroded connectors and clean them as needed.
Check for a clogged fuel filter, ensure the throttle is properly adjusted, and inspect the drive belt for wear. Verify that the clutch is engaging correctly.
Loosen the rear axle bolts and use the adjusters to set the correct tension, ensuring there is a 1/2 inch sag in the track. Retighten the bolts securely.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine to clear the fuel lines. Add a fuel stabilizer and change the oil and filter. Lubricate all fittings and store the vehicle in a dry, covered area.
Remove the belt guard, then relieve the tension on the belt by rotating the secondary clutch. Slide the belt off and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is properly seated.
