Polaris Trail RMK v3 Owner's Manual

To break in your Polaris Trail RMK 2008, avoid prolonged operation at any single throttle position. Vary the throttle positions and engine speeds during the first 10 hours of use. Avoid full throttle and heavy loads.
Regular maintenance should include checking the oil level and brake fluid before each ride, inspecting the drive belt every 1,000 miles, and changing the chaincase oil annually.
If your snowmobile won't start, check the battery for charge and connections, ensure the fuel is fresh, and inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling.
Use 87 octane or higher unleaded gasoline. Avoid ethanol blends higher than E10 to prevent engine or fuel system damage.
To adjust track tension, lift the rear of the snowmobile, loosen the axle bolts, and turn the adjuster bolts evenly on each side until the track hangs 1.25 inches below the rail when a 10 lb weight is applied.
If the engine overheats, stop immediately to let it cool down. Check the coolant level and ensure the cooling system is free of obstructions.
Remove the belt guard, compress the secondary clutch to slacken the belt, and slide it off. Fit the new belt in the reverse order, ensuring it's aligned properly.
Common issues include worn bushings, loose bolts, and damaged shocks. Regularly inspect and tighten all components, and replace any worn parts promptly.
Clean the snowmobile thoroughly, stabilize the fuel, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry area. Cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
Check the headlight bulb, fuse, and wiring connections for any damage or corrosion. Replace the bulb or fuse if needed, and ensure all connections are secure.
