To perform an oil change, first warm up the engine. Then, place a drain pan under the vehicle and remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to fully drain, replace the drain plug, and fill with the recommended oil type and amount as specified in the owner’s manual.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are tight and free of corrosion. Verify that the fuel valve is on and that there is sufficient fuel. Also, check the fuses and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Tire pressure should be checked before each ride. Refer to the owner’s manual for the recommended PSI settings for your specific model.
After riding through water, it's important to inspect and clean the air filter, check for water in the oil, and lubricate any exposed moving parts to prevent rust and corrosion.
Ensure that the air filter is clean, the tires are properly inflated, and the engine is well-tuned. Avoid carrying unnecessary weight and maintain a steady throttle when riding.
Check the EPS fuse and wiring for any visible damage. If all connections are secure, consult a Polaris dealer for a diagnostic, as specialized tools may be needed.
Refer to the owner’s manual for specific suspension settings. Adjust the preload on the shocks using the tool provided in your tool kit to suit your weight and riding conditions.
Clean the vehicle thoroughly and apply a protective wax. Stabilize the fuel, change the oil, and disconnect the battery. Store the ATV in a dry, covered location.
Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. Inspect the fan for proper operation. If the problem persists, a thermostat or water pump issue may be the cause, requiring professional service.
Remove the wheel and hub assembly to access the CV joint. Carefully cut off the old boot, clean the joint, and replace it with a new boot. Secure the boot with clamps and reassemble the components.
