For optimal performance, use Polaris PS-4 Full Synthetic 5W-50 Engine Oil. This oil is specifically formulated for Polaris ATVs and provides the necessary protection in all operating conditions.
Polaris recommends changing the engine oil and filter every 50 hours of operation, or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes are crucial for maintaining engine health.
The recommended tire pressure for a Polaris Sportsman 450 is 5 psi (34.5 kPa) for the front tires and 7 psi (48.3 kPa) for the rear tires. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold.
If your Sportsman 570 won't start, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
Regularly check the brake fluid level and replace it every two years. Inspect brake pads for wear and replace them if the thickness is less than 1/8 inch. Ensure there are no leaks in the brake lines and that the brakes are properly adjusted.
If overheating occurs, first stop the vehicle and allow the engine to cool. Check the coolant level and add the recommended Polaris coolant if necessary. Inspect the radiator for debris and clean it. If the problem continues, have the cooling system inspected by a professional.
Remove the air filter cover, then carefully take out the air filter. Clean it using a mild detergent and warm water, and allow it to dry completely. Lightly oil the filter before reinstalling, ensuring there are no gaps or damage.
During the first 10 hours of operation, avoid prolonged full-throttle operation and vary engine speeds. Perform regular checks on fluid levels and inspect for leaks. Gradually increase the workload to allow the engine components to seat properly.
To adjust the suspension, locate the preload adjuster on the shocks. Use a spanner wrench to increase or decrease preload based on the desired ride comfort and load requirements. Refer to the owner’s manual for specific settings.
Before winter storage, wash and dry your ATV thoroughly. Change the oil and filter, top off the fuel with a stabilizer, and check antifreeze levels. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the ATV to protect it from dust and moisture.
