For the first 10 hours or 100 miles, avoid aggressive acceleration, prolonged full-throttle operation, and vary the engine speed frequently. This allows the engine components to wear in properly.
The oil should be changed every 50 hours of operation, every 6 months, or every 500 miles, whichever comes first. Always use recommended oil type and check levels regularly.
Maintain a tire pressure of 7 psi (48 kPa) for optimal performance. Regularly check the tire pressure, especially before long rides.
Check the battery connections and charge, ensure the fuel level is adequate, inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling, and verify that the ignition switch is functioning properly.
After riding in wet or muddy conditions, wash the vehicle thoroughly, inspect and clean the air filter, check the brakes for mud or debris, and lubricate all pivot points and cables.
Adjust the spring preload and compression damping settings to suit the terrain. For rough trails, soften the suspension, and for smooth trails, stiffen the suspension for better handling.
Stop the vehicle immediately, let it cool down, and check the coolant level. Inspect for any leaks or blockages in the radiator. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
Maintain proper tire pressure, ensure regular maintenance, avoid carrying excess weight, and ride at moderate speeds to improve fuel efficiency.
Use a 50/50 mixture of high-quality antifreeze and distilled water. Make sure the coolant is suitable for aluminum engines to prevent corrosion.
Clean the vehicle thoroughly, perform all recommended maintenance, stabilize the fuel, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered location to protect it from the elements.
