The break-in procedure includes varying the engine speed, avoiding prolonged full-throttle operation, and not operating at constant RPMs for extended periods during the first 20 hours or 200 miles. This helps ensure proper wear-in of engine components.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation, 6 months, or 500 miles, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes help maintain engine performance and longevity.
Use Polaris PS-4 5W-50 synthetic oil, which is specially formulated for Polaris engines to provide proper lubrication over a wide temperature range.
Check the battery for sufficient charge, inspect the starter and connections, ensure the fuel is fresh, and verify that the kill switch is in the 'run' position.
The recommended tire pressure is 7 psi for front tires and 7 psi for rear tires. Proper tire pressure ensures optimal handling and traction.
Adjust the suspension by changing the preload settings on the shocks. For rough terrain, reduce preload for a softer ride. For smoother terrain, increase preload for more stability.
After riding in muddy conditions, thoroughly wash the ATV, inspect and clean the air filter, check for mud accumulation around brakes and suspension, and lubricate all pivot points.
Ensure regular maintenance, such as proper tire inflation, clean air filters, and regular oil changes. Avoid aggressive riding, and use recommended fuel grades.
Use a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water. Polaris recommends using their branded coolant or an equivalent suitable for aluminum engines.
To reset the service light, turn the key to the 'on' position, toggle to the service interval screen, and press and hold the 'mode' button until the display resets.
