The Polaris 700 Classic requires unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. For optimal performance, you may use premium 91 octane fuel.
To maintain the battery, regularly check for corrosion on the terminals and clean them as needed. Ensure the battery is charged, especially during periods of inactivity, and store it in a cool, dry place.
Polaris recommends using their own brand of 2-stroke engine oil, such as Polaris Blue or VES, for the best performance and protection.
Check the battery for charge and connections, ensure the fuel is fresh, and inspect the spark plugs. If these are fine, the issue may lie with the starter motor or ignition system.
Stop the vehicle immediately to let it cool down. Check for coolant levels and leaks, ensure the radiator is not blocked, and verify the fan operation.
It is recommended to inspect and, if necessary, replace the spark plugs every 3,000 miles or once a season to ensure reliability and performance.
The recommended tire pressure for the Polaris 700 Classic is 12 PSI for both front and rear tires. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
You can adjust the suspension by changing the preload on the springs. Use the adjustment tool provided to rotate the spring adjuster ring to your desired setting.
During routine maintenance, check the oil level, coolant level, brake fluid, and inspect the belts, hoses, and cables for wear. Also, ensure all lights and controls are functioning.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure the engine is well-tuned, drive at moderate speeds, and reduce idling. Proper tire inflation and regular maintenance also contribute to better fuel efficiency.
