Regular maintenance should be performed every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. This includes checking and replacing spark plugs, inspecting the drive belt, and ensuring all fluids are topped off.
If the snowmobile won't start, check the battery connections and ensure it's charged. Verify that the fuel is fresh and the fuel lines are not clogged. Inspect the spark plugs for wear or fouling.
Polaris recommends using their VES (Variable Exhaust System) synthetic 2-cycle oil for optimal engine performance and protection.
Ensure regular maintenance, such as cleaning the carburetor and replacing spark plugs. Riding at a consistent speed and avoiding rapid acceleration can also help improve fuel efficiency.
Stop the engine immediately to let it cool down. Check the coolant levels and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. Inspect the thermostat and water pump for proper operation.
Adjust the rear suspension by modifying the spring preload. Use the adjustment tool provided with the snowmobile to increase or decrease tension based on riding conditions and rider weight.
Signs include visible fraying, cracking, or glazing on the belt surface. Slipping, reduced performance, and unusual noises during operation also indicate a worn belt.
Clean the snowmobile thoroughly and apply a protective wax. Drain or stabilize the fuel, remove the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the snowmobile to protect it from dust and debris.
Check the headlight bulbs for any signs of burn out. Inspect the fuses and replace any that are blown. Verify that the wiring connections are secure and free from corrosion.
Lift the rear of the snowmobile so the track is off the ground. Measure the track tension using a track tension tool to ensure it meets the manufacturer's specifications, adjusting as necessary.
