Clean the snowmobile thoroughly, stabilize the fuel, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, cool place. Cover it to protect against dust and debris.
Check the battery for charge, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plugs, and confirm that the ignition switch is in the correct position.
The track tension should be adjusted so that there is about 1/2 inch of sag when applying 10 pounds of force in the center of the track.
Maintain proper tire pressure, ensure regular maintenance, use high-quality fuel, and avoid aggressive acceleration and high speeds.
Stop the vehicle immediately, let it cool down, check coolant levels, and inspect for any blockages in the cooling system.
Consult the owner's manual for specific settings, but typically you can adjust the preload on the shocks to suit your weight and riding conditions.
Look for cracks, fraying, and glazing on the belt. Also, if you notice reduced performance or slipping, it may be time to replace the belt.
Remove the air filter, gently wash it with soap and water, allow it to dry completely, and apply a thin layer of air filter oil before reinstalling.
