Ensure the snowmobile is in neutral, apply the choke, and press the electric start button. If it doesn't start, pull the manual start cord. Once started, gradually release the choke as the engine warms up.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. For optimal performance, 91 octane is recommended. Avoid using ethanol blends above 10%.
It's recommended to inspect and potentially replace the spark plugs every season or every 3,000 miles to ensure optimal engine performance.
Clean the snowmobile thoroughly, stabilize the fuel, change the oil, lubricate all moving parts, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the snowmobile to protect it from dust and debris.
Check the fuel level, ensure the kill switch is set to 'Run', inspect the battery for charge, check the spark plug for fouling, and ensure the choke is applied if the weather is cold.
Inspect the track tension every 500 miles or before every ride. Adjust the tension if the track is too loose or too tight to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.
Adjust the spring preload on the shocks according to your weight and riding style. Softer settings are for a smoother ride, while firmer settings provide better control. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific settings.
Stop the snowmobile immediately to prevent engine damage. Check for coolant leaks, ensure the cooling fins are not blocked, and let the engine cool before adding any coolant. Consider inspecting the thermostat if the problem persists.
Maintain proper tire pressure, ensure the engine is well-tuned, avoid prolonged idling, and maintain a steady speed while riding. Regular maintenance such as air filter replacement can also improve efficiency.
Warm up the engine, place a drain pan under the oil plug, remove the plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter, reinstall the plug, and fill with the recommended oil type and quantity. Check for leaks after starting the engine.
