To break in the engine, avoid high speeds and heavy loads for the first 10 hours of operation. Gradually increase the throttle and vary engine speed. Change the oil and filter after the break-in period.
The recommended tire pressure for both models is 5 psi (34.5 kPa) for the front tires and 7 psi (48.3 kPa) for the rear tires. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
It is recommended to change the engine oil and filter every 50 hours of operation, 6 months, or 500 miles, whichever comes first.
Use Polaris PS-4 5W-50 oil for optimal performance. This oil is specifically formulated for Polaris vehicles, ensuring proper lubrication and protection.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the battery is fully charged. Inspect the spark plug and replace if necessary. Verify that the fuel valve is open and there is adequate fuel in the tank.
Regularly check the coolant level in the overflow reservoir and radiator. Use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. Inspect the radiator for debris and clean it as required to prevent overheating.
If the vehicle overheats, stop immediately and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level and for any leaks. Inspect the radiator and fan for obstructions. Do not continue to ride until the issue is resolved.
To adjust the throttle lever freeplay, locate the adjuster on the throttle cable. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster to set the freeplay to 1/16 to 1/8 inch (1.5 to 3 mm). Tighten the lock nut after adjustment.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the air filter. Wash it with warm soapy water and let it dry completely. Apply a light coat of air filter oil and reinstall. Ensure the filter is seated properly to prevent unfiltered air from entering the engine.
Ensure the idle speed is set correctly according to the owner's manual. Check for any vacuum leaks in the intake system. Clean the fuel injectors and throttle body. If the issue persists, consult a Polaris service technician.
