To perform an oil change, warm up the engine, then remove the drain plug to let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter, reinstall the drain plug, and fill the engine with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify the fuel supply and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Replace the spark plug if necessary.
Inspect the transmission fluid level and condition. If low or dirty, replace the fluid. Check the gear selector linkage for proper adjustment and ensure there are no obstructions.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil every 50 hours, inspecting the brakes and tires, and lubricating all moving parts every ride or monthly.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the rear axle nuts, adjust the tensioner bolt until the chain has about 1/2 inch of slack, then retighten the nuts securely.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid fuels with more than 10% ethanol as they may damage the engine.
Start by checking the battery voltage and connections. Inspect fuses and wiring for damage. Use a multimeter to test for continuity and diagnose any faulty components.
Check the coolant level and top it off if necessary. Inspect the radiator for blockages and ensure the fan is operational. Avoid riding in extremely hot conditions or at low speeds.
To replace the brake pads, remove the wheel, then the brake caliper. Replace the old pads with new ones, ensuring they are properly seated, and reassemble the caliper and wheel.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 5 psi for both front and rear tires. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
