To perform a factory reset on your Onkyo TX SR804, press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button on the front panel while pressing the "ON/STANDBY" button. Continue holding both buttons until "Clear" appears on the display. This will reset the receiver to its original factory settings.
First, check all cable connections to ensure they are secure. Make sure the receiver is set to the correct input source and that the volume is turned up. If using speakers, ensure they are properly connected and functioning. Finally, check if the "MUTE" function is activated and deactivate it if necessary.
The Onkyo TX SR804 does not support firmware updates via internet or USB. Firmware updates, if available, would typically be done through authorized service centers. Contact Onkyo support for further information.
Ensure that your receiver has adequate ventilation by placing it in an open space and not stacking other electronic devices on top. Check that the cooling fans are operational and not obstructed. Consider using an external cooling fan if necessary.
The Onkyo TX SR804 does not have built-in Bluetooth capability. To connect a Bluetooth device, you will need to use an external Bluetooth audio receiver connected to one of the available audio inputs.
Use the Onkyo AccuEQ calibration system by connecting the supplied microphone to the receiver. Follow the on-screen instructions to automatically adjust speaker levels and distances for optimal sound performance.
Check the display dimming settings to ensure it is not set to off. Ensure the receiver is powered on and not in standby mode. If the issue persists, it may require service from an authorized technician.
The TX SR804 supports HDMI but does not support 4K video pass-through. To connect a 4K TV, you will need to connect your 4K source directly to the TV and use an optical or coaxial cable for audio back to the receiver.
Turn off and unplug the receiver before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or sprays directly on the unit. A slightly damp cloth can be used for stubborn dirt, but ensure no moisture enters the unit.
Ensure all HDMI cables are properly connected and meet the required specifications. Try connecting to a different HDMI input on the receiver. Power cycle all connected devices, including the receiver. If issues persist, check for compatibility with your HDMI sources.
