To reset the Onkyo TX-SR705 to factory settings, press and hold the VCR/DVR button on the front panel while pressing the ON/STANDBY button. When you see the display flash "CLEAR," release both buttons. The receiver will reset to factory settings.
Ensure all cables are connected properly, the correct input source is selected, and the speaker settings are configured correctly. Check if the mute function is activated or the volume is extremely low. If the issue persists, try a factory reset.
The Onkyo TX-SR705 does not support firmware updates through USB or network connections. Any updates must be performed by an authorized Onkyo service center.
Regularly dust the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Keep the vents clear of obstructions to prevent overheating. Periodically check cable connections and clean them if necessary. Avoid placing the receiver in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
Experiment with the built-in equalizer settings to customize the sound profile. Ensure your speakers are properly positioned and calibrated using the Audyssey 2EQ feature. High-quality cables and connections can also enhance audio performance.
Overheating may occur due to blocked ventilation or excessive load. Ensure the receiver has adequate space around it for airflow and that all cooling vents are unobstructed. Reducing the volume level or external heat sources can help mitigate the issue.
The Onkyo TX-SR705 does not have built-in Bluetooth capability. However, you can connect a Bluetooth adapter to an available input, such as the AUX or Tape input, to stream audio wirelessly.
Connect the speakers as per the 7.1 configuration diagram in the manual. Use the speaker setup menu to assign speakers, then calibrate using the Audyssey 2EQ feature. Ensure all speakers are properly connected to their corresponding terminals.
The "Check SP Wire" message indicates a possible short circuit in the speaker wiring. Turn off the receiver and inspect all speaker cables for shorts, frays, or loose connections. Correct any issues before powering the unit back on.
Use the component video outputs on the TX-SR705 to connect to the component inputs on your TV. For audio, use either the digital optical or analog audio outputs, depending on your TV’s available inputs.
