To perform a factory reset on your Onkyo TX NR900/NR900E, turn off the receiver. Then, while holding down the VCR/DVR button, press the On/Standby button. When you see "Clear" on the display, release the VCR/DVR button. The receiver will reset to factory settings.
First, ensure that all speaker cables and audio inputs are correctly connected. Check if the receiver is on the correct input source and if the Mute function is off. Also, verify that the speaker settings are configured properly in the setup menu.
The Onkyo TX NR900/NR900E may require a firmware update via a CD or USB drive, depending on the model. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions and ensure you download the correct firmware from the official Onkyo website.
To clean your Onkyo receiver, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using any liquid cleaners or spray directly on the unit. Keep the vents clear of dust to ensure proper ventilation and avoid placing the receiver in a closed cabinet.
Connect the front, center, and surround speakers to their respective terminals on the receiver. Connect the subwoofer to the pre-out terminal. Access the speaker setup menu and set the configuration to 5.1, adjusting the speaker size and distance settings as needed.
Overheating can occur if the vents are blocked or if the receiver is in a confined space. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit and consider using a fan to improve airflow. Operating the receiver at high volume levels for prolonged periods can also cause overheating.
Check the batteries in the remote control and replace them if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver. If the problem persists, try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing each button once.
The Onkyo TX NR900/NR900E does not have built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. However, you can connect it to a network using a wired Ethernet connection or by using a third-party wireless adapter compatible with the receiver's specifications.
Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected and that the input source on the receiver matches the output source on the connected device. Try using different HDMI cables and ports, and check for any available firmware updates for the receiver and connected devices.
The Onkyo TX NR900/NR900E does not natively support smartphone app control. However, you may use a universal remote app compatible with your home network setup, provided it supports the receiver's IR or network control capabilities.
