First, replace the batteries in the remote control. If the problem persists, ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver. Also, check if the remote control sensor on the receiver is clean.
The Onkyo TX-DS777 does not support firmware updates via network or USB. Firmware updates, if available, need to be performed by an authorized service center.

Regularly dust the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure adequate ventilation around the receiver, and periodically check all connections to avoid loose cables. Avoid using chemical cleaners.
Ensure that the FM antenna is properly connected and fully extended. Try repositioning the antenna for better reception or consider using an outdoor antenna for improved signal strength.
Ensure that the receiver has proper ventilation and is not enclosed in a tight space. Check that all vents are unobstructed. If overheating persists, reduce the volume level and avoid prolonged use at high volumes.
Connect external devices using the available inputs such as composite, component, or S-Video. For audio, you can use optical, coaxial, or analog connections depending on the output options of your devices.
