Onkyo TX 8255 Instruction Manual

To connect a turntable to your Onkyo TX-8255, use the 'PHONO' input on the back of the receiver. Ensure that the ground wire from the turntable is connected to the ground terminal on the receiver to reduce hum.
Check if the speaker wires are properly connected and the correct input source is selected. Ensure the mute function is not activated and the volume is turned up. If the problem persists, try resetting the receiver.
To reset the Onkyo TX-8255, turn off the receiver, then press and hold the 'TUNING MODE' button while pressing the 'STANDBY/ON' button. This will reset the receiver to factory settings.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver. Avoid using chemicals or abrasive materials. Regularly check and clean the ventilation slots to prevent overheating.
The Onkyo TX-8255 does not have built-in Bluetooth. However, you can use an external Bluetooth adapter connected to the 'AUX' input to stream audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
The TX-8255 allows for A/B speaker switching. Connect speakers in different rooms to the 'A' and 'B' speaker terminals and use the A/B button on the receiver to switch or play both simultaneously.
Ensure that the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area. Check that the vents are not blocked and clean them if necessary. If overheating persists, reduce the volume and ensure the speaker impedance matches the receiver's specifications.
For better FM/AM reception, adjust the position of the antenna, or use an external antenna. Ensure the antenna connections are secure and not placed near any electronic devices that might cause interference.
The TX-8255 does not have a dedicated subwoofer output. However, you can use a subwoofer with speaker-level inputs by connecting it in parallel with the existing speakers.
To store a preset, tune into the desired station, press the 'MEMORY' button, and then select a preset number using the 'PRESET' buttons. Press 'MEMORY' again to store the station.
