To connect your Onkyo HTP-390 to your TV, use an HDMI cable. Connect one end to the HDMI OUT port on the receiver and the other end to an HDMI IN port on your TV. Ensure both devices are powered off during the connection process.
First, check that all speaker cables are securely connected to both the receiver and the speakers. Ensure the receiver is set to the correct input source. Verify that the volume is turned up and the mute function is disabled. If problems persist, try resetting the receiver to its factory settings.
To reset the Onkyo HTP-390, press and hold the CBL/SAT button, then press the ON/STANDBY button. Continue holding the CBL/SAT button until you see "Clear" on the display, then release both buttons. This will reset the receiver to its factory defaults.
The Onkyo HTP-390 does not have built-in Bluetooth functionality. However, you can use an external Bluetooth adapter connected to the receiver's audio input to stream audio wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
To update the firmware, download the latest firmware file from the Onkyo support website onto a USB drive. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the receiver, then navigate to the firmware update option in the receiver's menu to start the update process.
For optimal sound quality, position the front left and right speakers at an equal distance from the listening position, forming a 60-degree angle. Place the center speaker directly above or below the TV, and the surround speakers slightly behind the listening area at ear level. The subwoofer can be placed near the front speakers for best bass response.
Check that all HDMI cables are securely connected and not damaged. Ensure the receiver and connected devices are set to the correct HDMI inputs. Try swapping cables or testing with different HDMI ports. If issues continue, consider using certified high-speed HDMI cables.
Regular maintenance includes dusting the exterior with a soft, dry cloth and ensuring all ventilation openings are unobstructed. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents. Periodically check speaker connections and cables for wear or damage.
To adjust the bass and treble settings, use the tone controls on the receiver. Access the settings menu via the remote control or front panel, and navigate to the Tone Control section to make adjustments as desired.
First, replace the batteries in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver. If the problem persists, try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing every button for a few seconds. Then, reinsert the batteries and test the remote again.
