To connect your Onkyo HT-S9100THX to a TV, use an HDMI cable. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the receiver and the other end to an HDMI IN port on your TV. Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input.
First, check if the receiver is set to the correct input source. Ensure all speaker cables are connected properly. Check the volume level and mute settings. If the issue persists, try a factory reset of the receiver.
To perform a factory reset, turn off the receiver. Press and hold the CBL/SAT button, then press the ON/STANDBY button. Keep holding CBL/SAT until 'Clear' appears on the display. Release the buttons and wait for the receiver to reset.
To update the firmware, connect the receiver to the internet via Ethernet. Press the Setup button on the remote, navigate to Hardware Setup > Firmware Update, and follow the on-screen instructions to check for and install updates.
For optimal surround sound, configure the system in a 7.1 setup with front left, center, front right, surround left, surround right, surround back left, and surround back right speakers, plus a subwoofer. Position the speakers at ear level.
Ensure that all HDMI cables are securely connected. Check if the HDMI cables are functional by testing with another device. Try a different HDMI input on the TV. If issues persist, reset the receiver or update its firmware.
The Onkyo HT-S9100THX does not natively support Bluetooth. However, you can use a Bluetooth adapter connected to the receiver's auxiliary input to stream audio wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Use the Audyssey 2EQ automatic speaker calibration system. Connect the supplied microphone to the receiver, place it at ear height in your listening area, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the calibration process.
Ensure the receiver has adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or stacking it with other electronics. Check that the cooling vents are not blocked. If overheating persists, consider using a cooling fan.
Connect the gaming console to the receiver using an HDMI cable. Plug one end into the console's HDMI OUT and the other into one of the receiver's HDMI IN ports. Select the corresponding input on the receiver to start using the console.
