Onkyo HT R648 Instruction Manual

To connect your Onkyo HT-R648 to a TV, use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on the receiver to the HDMI IN port on your TV. Ensure that the TV's input source is set to the corresponding HDMI port.
First, check all speaker connections to ensure they are secure. Then, verify that the receiver is set to the correct input source. Also, ensure that the volume is turned up and that the mute function is not activated.
To reset the HT-R648, turn the receiver on, press and hold the VCR/DVR button, then press the ON/STANDBY button. The display will show "Clear," indicating that the reset is complete.
To update the firmware, connect the receiver to the internet via an Ethernet cable. Navigate to the "Hardware Setup" menu, select "Firmware Update," and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.
For a 5.1 channel system, place the front left and right speakers at an equal distance from the TV, the center speaker directly above or below the TV, two surround speakers to the sides or slightly behind the listening area, and the subwoofer in a corner for optimal bass response.
To improve bass output, try repositioning the subwoofer in different locations of the room. Adjust the crossover frequency and volume settings on both the receiver and the subwoofer itself.
Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected. Try using different HDMI cables or ports to rule out faulty equipment. Also, check for any firmware updates that might resolve compatibility issues.
First, replace the batteries in the remote control. If it still doesn't work, ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver, and try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing all buttons.
Use the built-in AccuEQ calibration feature. Connect the supplied microphone to the setup mic jack and follow the on-screen instructions to automatically calibrate the speaker levels for optimal sound.
Unfortunately, the Onkyo HT-R648 does not support Bluetooth connectivity directly. You can use an external Bluetooth adapter connected to one of the auxiliary inputs to stream audio from Bluetooth devices.
