To reset the Onkyo HT-R640 to factory settings, first, ensure the receiver is in standby mode. Then, press and hold the VCR/DVD button while pressing the ON/STANDBY button. The display should show "Clear," indicating the reset is complete.
First, check all cable connections to ensure they are secure. Verify that the correct input source is selected. Additionally, ensure that the mute function is not activated and the speaker configurations are set up correctly in the receiver's menu.
The Onkyo HT-R640 does not support firmware updates via USB or network as it is an older model. Please consult the Onkyo support website or contact customer service for any potential updates or assistance.
Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and that vents are not blocked. Check for excessive dust build-up and clean if necessary. If the problem persists, consider using an external fan to improve airflow.
